Hand-Crafted Archaeological Ceramic Calendar Wall Décor

Angel Cerón shows an accurate reproduction of the Aztec calendar, also known as the "Sun Stone." There were a total of five suns, including the main one, according to pre-Hispanic tradition. According to legend, the previous four were killed along with humans by the wrath of the gods. The calendar stands for the fifth sun and tells the story of the past four and marks the seasonal change. The Aztecs (or "Mexica," as they called themselves) believed that daily the sun was struggling against the dark forces. By human sacrifices they helped the light. Features: Replica museum. Finish: Crackled.
